Subaru Outback Overview
The Subaru Outback is a versatile five-seater vehicle that's ready to go on- and off-the-roads of the Philippines. Tracing its roots back to 1994, this station wagon turned SUV was named after the vast and remote outback regions of Australia—signifying an emphasis to its moderate off-road capabilities. Subaru injected a bit of adrenaline into the Outback’s design. With its muscular fenders, a glance on its side reveals a sporty and rugged look. The interior, on the other hand, sets the mood of the passengers for an engaging journey. Aside from the premium nappa leather seats, it also houses a dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 11.6-inch high-resolution infotainment center with USB-C ports routed through a premium Harman Kardon audio system. Driving information is displayed via a 3.5-inch full-color LCD, plus a host of driving conveniences like cruise control and paddle shifters are standard as well. At the heart of the all-new Outback is a 2.5-liter boxer engine good for 185 hp and 245 Nm of torque, mated to a Lineartronic CVT. The Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system with Active-Torque Split and X-MODE offers better driving performance on slippery or rough surfaces. When engaged, X-MODE matches the engine, braking, and AWD performance to any given road condition. A key feature of the Outback is the EyeSight driver-assist technology. This modern feature grants the driver another set of eyes on the road. The tech features active safety functions such as Pre-Collision Braking, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, and Lane Departure Warning. All of these are possible due to the rear-view mirror-integrated forward-facing stereoscopic cameras.

The Subaru Outback received some minor updates during the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), and is available in a sole variant called the 2.5i Touring Eyesight, which included the same tech features but with added conveniences, touchscreen updates, and USB-C ports. It is priced at P2,480,000.
The all-new Subaru Outback made its debut in the Philippines on August 23, 2021, with only one variant made available to the Philippine market. While the model didn't have other variants to fill out the lineup, the sole trim level came equipped with all of Subaru's latest and greatest technologies which includes its Eye-Sight package.
The Subaru Outback model entered the Philippines in 2015 with a 3.6-liter flat-six boxer engine option and a 2.5-liter option right after the launch.
